no sound on playback

hi, I'm using pro x4, had no problems til today

I'm using win7, and just from today, x4 has stopped giving any sound output. Playing mpg files I can see the sound levels in the mixer, but there's no output audio. I can hear mpg audio in other players, just not in Corel.

I'm thinking I must have turned something off, but can't find anything amiss. Any help, please???

... ps I've just discovered the Corel sound works if I log on as another user; this suggests there's a setting in Corel somewhere to turn off the sound (the clips are not muted?). Any ideas?

You may want to check if the user where the program is not working has the same privileges as the user where the program works properly. Are they the same admin or just regular user?
