New Blue video essentials

Hi,
I have tried the new blue video essentials pack in video studio pro 4. Although they work fine I find that I do not need them and so have deleted them. The problem is that although the folders have gone from the programme file the empty icons are still showing up on the filter attributes page.
Can anyone advise how I can get rid of these from that page.

I think that trick here is to uninstall the new blue video essentials pack from the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS of your Windows 7 and not just delete the files manually.

Hi there,
thanks for your reply. Only problem is that I have used the add/remove feature, in addition I have tried IO bit uninstaller. In each case it is showing that New Blue does not exist but when I open videostudio and select the filters they are all still showing. If I then click on it to use it the filter is not available and is just showing as black! The only file at all that I can find for New Blue is under "C" drive Programs and then it is only holding the help files.

After deleting the NewBlue effects from the plug-in folder, you will have to rebuild a file as I have outlined in this post. Since I only have Windows XP, it is up to you to find the correct locations in your Windows 7 operating system.

thanks for the help. I have gone to the correct folder using Ulead/Corel and found the file ULVFT.DAT. Changed it and restarted videostudio, the programme has rebuilt the file but is still showing the titles of the deleted filters. I have looked at other entries and found a folder in the same folder as the ULVFT.DAT entry marked "Video Filter". Inside this the New Blue filters are entered as *.DAT files and so I have deleted these files from this folder and then repeated what you suggested. On restarting videostudio the New Blue Dat files have repopulated the Video Filter file and so are still showing.
Any other suggestions.

Please post the full path to where you found and deleted the ULVFT.DAT file.

The path I used is "C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\14.0\en-US". Here I renamed the ULVFT.DAT file and opened up the Video folder and deleted the New Blue entries that re-populated themselves.

I don't understand about the Video folder you opened up and about deleting the NewBlue entries that re-populated themselves. What "Video" folder is that? What NewBlue entires? The NewBlue entries that re-populated themselves, are they files?

I've never had to do anything except rename the ULVFT.Dat file and then start up VideoStudio and wait for the DAT file to be rebuilt. There are a few other files that are rebuilt automatically. With X4, I've had to use the Task Manager to kill VideoStudio because after the new ULVFT.DAT file is rebuilt, VideoStudio hangs up. But then after I start VideoStudio again, the FX library contains the right number of entries.

The Video Filter folder is within the \en-US folder above the ULVft entry. It is a folder that contains Dat files for the various filters such as "average,blur and charcoal " to name just a few.
I have managed to get to the situation where I no longer get the New Blue dat files to show, but have still got the blank entries on the FX screen in layout.
In addition I have other items, such as Boris Graffiti and Mercalli,which I do use, showing with 4 entries which correspond to the number of times I have deleted the ULVft .dat file. I have attached the screen shot of these entries which I am trying to get back to normal.

The folder en-US,, Simply re-name this folder to "en-US Copy" start Video Studio or read on.

For XP can be found here...C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\14.0\en-US

For W7 can be found here...C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\14.0\en-US

This folder is created when the program is first launched, it is not created during installation.

If you were to delete or re-name the "Corel VideoStudio Pro/14.0" folder, (14.0 copy) when you re-start Video Studio a new folder will be created using the default settings, that is the initial installed state.

The installation files are found here:- C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X4

The New Blue installation files reside in the C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X4\vft_plug folder. It is these files you need to remove, however this should not be required as the files should be removed using the normal Add & Remove Programs option.

Modifying the files in the en_US structure will re-generate using the files in the Program files structure.

I have run a few tests, removed the UlVft.dat and yes I now see two copies of Boris etc.

Re-name the full folder to C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudioPro\14.0\"en-US Copy"
The program is defaulted to its installed state a new en-US folder is created

If you wish to save the library then export the library first.

Revert back to the original en-US version by simply re-naming the folders.
