There was an update notice (with link) for this plugin when I launched ASP, the first time I've seen that, what a great idea/implementation.
Thanks!

Hi,

i have some problems with asGPS.
Before using ASP I tagged my images with GeoSetter, using trackfiles from my mobilephone. that worked well.
Now I tried it with ASP, using the same files and same track file, ASP places the images at wrong places. I have to use Ctrl-R to reset the images so that the right position is shown.

Then I tried to "unload" a track and it seems to me that this is not possible. Once loaded, it is always there, I can only replace a track by another, but how do I unload the track so that there is NONE without restarting ASP?

Thanx for your help,
nyukuri

PS: is there somewhere a comprehensive Guide for asGPS, explaining all options and possibilities?

Create a preset form a picture without any GPS datas.
This preset should be named "Reset GPS", or something like that.

Then calling that preset will reset GPS datas.

Thank you, but that is no solution in my case: I don't want to get rid of all GPS data in my files - the data I have is correct! all I need is that a loaded track is unloaded! "Copy selective image settings" (or the creating preset dialog) does not have an entry for this!

Hi,

To unload a track file: Click on the filename of the track. Its an edit field. Ctrl-A, DEL to empty the field, press Enter. Now the track is unloaded.

If the images are not positioned correctly you have to check the time settings fields and adjust

a) the timezone in hrs
b) localtime/utc and
c) the offset field to adjust small diffs between camera time and gps time.

Andreas

PS: There is no guide to asGPS at the moment. But its on my todo list.

May be something has changed with google map...

I can't move the map,
I can't zoom with the mousewheel
I can't pin the position anymore...

looks like every interaction between maps and the mouse doesn't work anymore. looks like the map is now for tactile devices.
This suggestion is based on the new + / - buttons for zooming who looks like the one on smartphones.

I have one more question.

I recently had a look to GPS exif from an ASP output jpg. Next is the exiftool's output :

Code: Select all

GPS Altitude : 301 m Above Sea Level
GPS Latitude : 46 deg 41' 6.18" N
GPS Longitude : 73 deg 1' 0.18" W
GPS Position : 46 deg 41' 6.18" N, 73 deg 1' 0.18" W
It seems ASP doens't follow the correct exif guidelines. http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftoo ... s/GPS.html

We should see :

Code: Select all

GPS Altitude Ref : Above Sea Level
GPS Altitude : 301 m
GPS Latitude Ref : N
GPS Latitude : 46 deg 41' 6.18"
GPS Longitude Ref : W
GPS Longitude : 73 deg 1' 0.18"
This is why pictures are misplaced when using the googlemap extension within Zenphoto for instance. Who is involved : ASP or asGPS ?

Hi,

seems that google maps api is suddenly not compatible to former versions. v3.8 works ok, 3.9 and maybe the experimental 3.10 is broken. So a new asGPS version 1.3.2 which fixes this is on its way. Waiting currently for the mac version. I will look into the problems later to make it compatible to the current api.

The tags in the exif data are written from ASP, but it may be a problem of asGPS if the points are set by asGPS. I will have a look into it. If its asGPS fault there will be a new version in the next days.
