I just today discovered ASP and look for geotag support. Unfortunately on my debian 32 bit system ASP crashes at startup when asGPS 1.4.1 is installed.
Its output is:
Install Path: /opt/AfterShot2
LD_PATH: /opt/AfterShot2/lib:
XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS: 1
I have SSE2
Bibble program arguments ("./AfterShotPro")

From what I understand is that the plug-in is compiled with an older QT4 library incompatible to my system.I was able to install your version, however nothing shows up in my 32 bit application. Could you please compile a current 32 bit version of asGPS for me?
Or is there anything else I can do to make the official version working?
just tested asGPS on AfterShot 3.2 on Linux x86_64. Works fine. I think you should publish it on Corels ASP plugin page. I was only luck that I found this page here in the forum. I thought it had long since been abandoned, allthough I think its great to have it back again.
Only thing I am missing is a display of GPS heading information (North,...,South) which usually is a value from 0 to 360°, where 0 means the camera was looking to the North. My GPS Tagger provides these information, but in ASP they are not displayed. The tags are:
GPS Img Direction Ref : Magnetic North
GPS Img Direction : 241
Since ASP does not even show these tags it would be great to have asGPS do this job. Would also be great if asGPS was able to embed these tags in the final jpg. ASP by itself does not do this.
Have a nice day, and thanks for reactivating this plugin.

unfortunately I cannot tell you why google maps does not work for you, but when I tested asGPS yesterday with ASP 3.2 on my openSuSE42.2 (x86_64) system google maps just worked without any problems. Perhaps you should look in log files (ASP, system) to see if you find any hint for the problem you described.
I think this is a google problem - I am not using google maps very often - but it seems that google wants to have payment (25.000 map loads per day - simply impossible) nothing changed in my usage - problems since I think about one month (or even less)
I think in an older version of asGPS it was possibe to use BingMaps or Openstreetmaps too ...
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Google has changed the API, so that the usage without an API key (like in asGPS) ist not supported anymore. The use of an API key is connected to billing. I am looking into this, what options we can use.
Perhaps one would be to change to OSM, but I remember there have been problems some years ago, which led to disabling this possibility.
Another option would be to let you configure your own api key, use the free options or pay for only your Google api requests.

Thank you for the reply Andreas - would be nice if it would work again - without billing ...
A "HowTo" for the free options / or OSM would be nice.
Thanks in advance

The current plan is to use the free option, I already set up the account yesterday. But I have to restore the whole compile systems for the three system options. It will take a few days,,,
