Pro X4-Unspecified error selecting PIP customize filter

I just installed VS Pro X4 Ultimate on WIn7 and for the last week have been trying to use the product and it keeps crashing. I have to finish a wedding rehearsal dinner video and am about to give up and go learn After Effects instead. I am trying to use the picture in picture filter on an image in the overlay track with a short video clip in track 1. After the step after setting the size of the image to fit screen, I choose customize filter and an error box pops up with the customize screen stating unspecified error or programming error and crashes, says to get the dump log and call tech support. I have updated, shut all programs, re-sized image, tried different images, re-sized video, used mov, avi, wma versions and each time it still crashes. I had already applied the 2 updates/patches. Tech support had me update c++ and directx and windows installer but the only thing needing to be updated was directx. They wanted me to restart which did not solve the problem and when I went back onto their chat they had stopped taking requests 10 minutes before they were supposed to close. I checked out the memory and cpu usage and the memory only went to 35% when the error occurred. I am currently in the process of uninstalling and reinstalling the VS Pro software. Has anyone else had this problem and what is the fix for it. I have even manually changed Win7 pages as someone suggested and increased them to 4095 - didn't work. I am not having problems with any other programs on my machine. Being new to using this software and in a time crunch, I haven't been able to see if other effects cause this problem. Any help would truly be appreciated.

I have reinstalled VS Pro X4 and it is still crashing with an unspecified error when selecting the customize filter on Picture in Picture. I seem to have just created even more problems for myself because now all my Do More Free downloads show installed but they were deleted when I cleaned out any files dealing with VS. Anyway if someone has an answer to the crashing problem I would appreciate it. Thanks
