Changing aspect ratio
I have VideoStudio ProX4 Ultimate.Purchased before Christmas but this first time I have used it. I created my project, changed the ratio from 16:9 to 4:3. Burned the project and when I played it I could tell it was not in the correct aspect ratio. I went back, opened the project, checked the ratio aspect and it was set at 4:3. I then opened settings and it was at 720x480 29.97 which should be right. After burning I found it was still in wrong ratio. I opened the created file in MediaInfo and it showed it was 16:9 720x480 29.97. Am I missing something? How do I change it to 4:3. I have version 14.2.0.23. Thanks.

Re: Changing aspect ratio
When you opened the burn module before you actually burned the disc did you look to the bottom left corner of the 'Create Disc' window and note that the third icon along also said 4:3 - you need to check and change that icon to 4:3 as well as setting your project properties.

Yes, that icon has 4:3 as well as in the settings.

Re: Changing aspect ratio
do you finish editing and then go straight into the burn module and then burn the disc - many people including myself had all sorts of little niggles doing that. I now finish editing and then create a DVD compliant file - then I check out that file in Media player or some other player first to check it.
Then I open the Create disc Module and if there is any thing in the timeline I delete it - then use the 'Import Media' option to import the new and checked file - this makes sure I am burning a good file to disc - BUT I do not burn to disc at this stage, I usually use the 'Create DVD Folders' option which makes a Video_TS folder on your computer. Next I use WinDVD to 'play' that Video_TS folder, then if all is well I just copy that folder to a DVD.
Might sound a bit long and convoluted - but it actually is quite quick - but very importantly I get good discs with no problems - and - if there is a problem I can Isolate the stage it occurred at and put it right before I waste a blank DVD.
Of course if you already do that all this doesn't help - in which case - sorry.

Re: Changing aspect ratio
Thanks BrianCee for reply's. I edit my project then go to create disc to add menus. I then burn to folder and then use Nero to burn to disc. I have tried 3 times and each time, even in the folder, it shows 16:9 at 720x480 instead of 4:3. I had no trouble with version 11.5. Thanks again.

Re: Changing aspect ratio
I found the problem. I was changing the ratio in the bottom left hand corner every time. Although it shows the ratio as 4:3 there, after checking the settings on the top, it shows 16:9 as checked. I just took for granted changing the bottom icon would be enough. Sorry for the trouble!

Re: Changing aspect ratio
I got my project to 4:3. I noticed however every time I open VideoStudio I have to manually go into settings and uncheck 16:9. Why will it not stay unchecked.
