VS9 closes after initial main menu

Post by scottb721 »

When I make a selection on the main menu - DV to DVD, Movie Wizard or Editor - VS9 closes as soon as the next window appears.

I tried the install on 2 other PCs and both worked. I've tried several un/reinstalls but no change.

Anyone else had this or know a solution ?

Thankyou.

Hi

I have same problem basically with V8 and V9. I get the wizard and then a message saying ULead systems has encountered a problem and has to close. It started with V8 so I upgraded to V9 to see if this helped but it didn't.

Tech Support don't seem to be able to give me a solution. I've tried all the usual stuff such as uninstalling/reinstalling but nothing works.

Maybe if you get a solution it could help me and vice versa.

Hi Girly (sorry i think i posted this to the wrong thread)
Have you tried removing some of the folders left over after un-install.

After uninstalling VS 8 there are a few folders left that may be removed.

I have removed these in the past and re-installed with no problems.

Provided that VS 8 is the only ulead product, you should be able to uninstall and then search for all ulead / video studio / files remaining and delete them.( thjs I have Done )

Try this link first

http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs80faq.htm

last question under Installation/ Download

The folders I remove were:-

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems

C:\Documents and Settings\’User Name’\Application Data\Ulead Systems

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems

C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems

can't remember but there may be others???????????

I also removed all Smart Sound folders to allow full VS 8 installation.
