I'm wanting to print pictures on my Epson PX720WD with photo paper, using ASP on Linux 64bit.
The printer is configured in CUPS as default printer and fully working. ASP does detect the printer - it shows up in the available printers drop down list.
The issue is that ASP doesn't detect the printer's supported paper sizes. Instead it shows the list of paper sizes from Qt's standard QPrinter class I guess (e.g. A1,A2,A3 etc, exactly the list here: http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/qprint ... rSize-enum)
The printer though does support photo paper sizes like 9x13cm, 10x15cm etc. I would expect that ASP is able to query the printer's supported paper sizes (http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/qprinterinfo.html) but it seems to pic only "print to file"-supported paper sizes here.
Does anyone here use a photo printer in Linux and has things working? Then it would be an issue on my box (I do have 32bit cups libs installed though).

Re: [BUG][Linux] Printer's available paper sizes not detecte
I can't answer your question, but I've not been able to get ASP to recognize my HP printer. I also have bibble5 and printing works perfectly there. I've search the internet and can't find any info there. Looks like it's about time to file a bug report.
Thanks.

Hmm, there is a similar issue with Turboprint drivers: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=46167
I tried setting custom paper size which worked, hit "Print" and face the same issue as the guys in the turboprit thread - CUPS driver settings dialog is empty - so I cannot tell it to choose photo paper, borderless and such things.
Feeded the SurveyMonkey with a report about it.

Re: [BUG][Linux] Printer's available paper sizes not detecte
What is strange is that with the first version released of ASP, I was able to print, so I'm beginning to believe it's a bug in the version, or in the Ubuntu beta 2 release hplip drivers. I'm waiting for the final release this week of Ubuntu before I file a bug report. As I stated earlier, I also have bibble5 and printing does work there.
Thanks.

You may want to check this link: Bug found concerning printing under linux . If you have the same error in your AfterShotPro.log you may want to file a bug report.
Thanks.

Re: [BUG][Linux] Printer's available paper sizes not detecte
I do not have such messages in the log file. But I think they are quite harmless, just some svg's for buttons not found. Not sure though
I tested Bibble5 demo, and have the same issue there: printer detected, but not its supported paper sizes. Also the driver settings are empty in Qt printer dialog. Hmm...
Already feeded the SurveyMonkey about it. Hope it gets fixed at some point, and just use digiKam's great print assistant for printing.

Re: [BUG][Linux] Printer's available paper sizes not detecte
Can confirm the same problem here. After upgrading to ASP 1.0.1.10 Advanced tab in printer settings became empty for any printer installed in the system. OS is gentoo.
Is there any way to see if the bug by ASP developers is registered and what are the plans on fixing it?
