Hi All.
Just a heads up on a prob I have with the VideoStudio X5.
Settings >Preferences > Edit >Default Transition Effect
The transition I select here, no matter what I choose, reverts back to "Random" once "ok'd"
Is anyone else having this problem as this is a very annoying! The workaround this is to disable this option altogether and select manually.
Cheers
Alex

I see what you are saying, but the default transition I select is actually what I get on the timeline, despite "Random" showing back up.

Yes I see the same effect - but just like Kingston my VideoStudio always inserts the selected alternative in the current project , just that the preference wording always resets to Random .
Later Edit
In fact since I went to start a new project it appears that the new default set in Preferences (although the drop down still says Random) is used in all subsequent projects.

Re: X5 Transition Bug in preferences.
So what is the solution for this so-called bug? I ask because I now have it, in VS Prox5. No matter how many times I set and save the default transition to "crossfade," it always diverts back to "random."
And no, I have never overlapped any clips.

Re: X5 Transition Bug in preferences.
there is no solution because there is no problem. If you select "Crossfade" as your default in preferences then the crossfade transition is applied at every join between video clips as you insert them.
True if you now open Preferences again the drop down shows Random - but until you actually select Random VS will continue to insert crossfades in every project.
It doesn't seem to be the same in X6 - so perhaps if you find it a problem you should upgrade to X6.
