DVD to VCD ripping with merged subtitles.

Post by k0zaw »

I don't know how to rip a DVD to subtitles merged VCD like other DVD rippers. I tired with DWS by importing DVD folder. But in imported clips, subtitles were left :?
As I like Ulead products, it should be a feature of Ulead I thinked.

WS2 is hardly a "ripper" and is not intended as such. It incorporates a vob fileset>mpg fileset converter but it does not incorporate the means to transfer accessory files, such as alternate sound tracks, sub-titles, menus etc. This is normal because users are expected to author their work with the app, not copy other works.

I previously made some DVD with my own sub-title actually our fmaily movies. This time I need to send these to remote relatives, who posses only VCD player. And I need to reproduce that DVDs to VCD and of course, sub-titles are essential. In that case, why don't we need such authoring feature in such app. :?:

If your really struggling you could either:

Convert your VOB files back into MPG's by importing the DVD with one of the many Ulead programs available. DVDWS, VS9, DVDMF
and create a new VCD from scratch. I think you would also have to convert the MPG files to be VCD compliant.

You could hook up your DVD player to the computer and simply play and record your existing masterpiece with the subtitles turned on. However doing it this way you would obviously lose a bit of quality, but as I said, if your struggling.

Similarly You could play the DVD into a VHS tape recorder and give them that instead, again there would be a loss of quality.

Another alternative, buy them a DVD player for Christmas!

Thanks sjj1805,

Your method (1) result a simple vcd without merged subtitling.
Your method (2) need more device with poor quality than normal VCD.

As I am eager that, I tried other rippers (likes #1 DVD ripper) to make a VCD quality MPEG and the problem is solved
Because I'm not so rich to make present a dvd player at x'max to all of my relatives (who don't have). Any way I glad receiving your reply for me.
