Upgrade installer of Video Studio Pro X2

Post by Simon Sudbury »

Hi

I have previously posted about my travails trying to locate, download and instal VS Pro X2 which I have previously purchased (can't find earlier post so know I'm risking the wrath of mods etc).

Cutting to the chase, I appreciate the "compatibility" issues with Win 7 but would just like the opportunity to try it and then make an informed, evidence based decision. I've contacted Corel and created a Support case but it seems to have fallen on stoney ground as they say in the good book. They advise (someone called Nelson) that the upgrade installer just needs the serial number of earlier product etc etc etc. Yes, this is the process I've been through many times and am asked for VS8 and VSX2 serial numbers which is logical. Unfortunately I haven't been able to communicate that I can't find the said installer on the website from all the useful links provided by Corel (mainly relating to upgrade to X5!).

I don't want to make this into a big production but am getting really frustrated now. I sometimes feel like I'm talking Serbo-Croat rather than that of W Shakespear esq.

Can anyone on this platform direct me to the upgrade installer for VS Pro X2?

Thank you

I can't help with your problem, but I am surprised you couldn't find your earlier posts which were only a week ago: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 39#p245139

Never heard of an update installer Simon - not as a stand alone programme. The installer is part of the upgrade programme that is the VideoStudio upgrade download - if you have the upgrade VSX2 .exe programme which you downloaded - or if you have it on disc then just run it and one of the early screens which pop up will ask you to prove you have a serial number by entering it.

If you have problems finding your previous posts Simon just click on "View your posts" which is in the second light blue bar just under the large Corel word - that will find you all of your previous posts.

Thanks

I don't have the exe on my system as it was zapped when I did a clean instal of Win 7. Neither do I have the disk as the prog was downloaded from Corel. To clarify:

I have the VS8 disk.

I used the serial number to purchase VSX2 from Corel website.

I used the VSX2 Serial number when previously installing after Windows crashes.

The term upgrade installer was used by our friend Nelson at Corel so one assumes he knows what he's talking about.

All other things being equal, how would you proceed in these circumstances to find the installer for VSX2?

Nothing. Ok I'll plough a lone furrow with Nelson then.

Bit disappointing though.
