I have been using VideoStudio ProX 3 for a couple of years now on my old Dell Dimension 8300 which barely met the requirements to run the program. The old dell has a 2.80 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 2560 MB Memory and the video card is a SAPPHIRE RADEON 9200SE ATLANTIS. I just bought a brand new dell xps with the specs shown in the profile, a robust machine which should run the program with no problem. What is happening is that when I view video in the preview screen it is showing wavy lines especially if the subject is moving. The lines do not appear in the raw footage and on my old dell computer they do not show up (I compared the exact same footage).
I did some trouble shooting with Corel and Dell and the Dell tech support people felt it was related to the video drivers. After many hours of them uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, the error was never fixed and they made such a mess of the computer that I have returned it. I am now going to purchase a new computer and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to the brand and model of video card that I should get in order to not have this problem. It was very disappointing to see the wavy lines (I understand that they won't appear in the final video) as I don't feel that I should have to look at that while editing my movies when it didn't happen on my old under powered computer so I am really hoping to find a solution. I would appreciate any help I can get!
