Hi,
I'm the happy owner of the new Corel VideoStudio Pro X5 program. I've resently put together my first video, but then an error occured.
In the preview window i noticed that everytime a new clip is beeing played, the program adds a top line and bottom line, often displaying something from the previous clip in the timeline. I thought this was not a big deal, but then after saving my video as a finish .avi file, the problem was not solved..
On following webpage, there's a screen picture of my problem: http://forum.videohelp.com/attachments/ ... o%20X5.jpg
The clips are recorded with a 4:3 ratio and 720p, 60 frames/s.
When i played the finish created file, i tried in Windows Media Player and in VLC.
Anyone who can tell me what's wrong?
Pro X5 is adding lines in top and bottom of the video

Re: Pro X5 is adding lines in top and bottom of the video
Frankly, I didn't think it was possibly to have 4:3 aspect ratio with a 720p/60 fps video. It would normally be 16:9 by default. So where did your video come from? Can you right click on it and copy ALL its Properties here please, or do a screen grab of the properties box and post it as an image here.
Can you also tell us what you did with it -- what editing? What are you wanting to do with it? And exactly which type of .avi did you produce? Unfortunately, .avi is merely a wrapper extension and there are over 800 different types of video which use it. So it will be important to know exactly which avi format you chose.

Re: Pro X5 is adding lines in top and bottom of the video
I recorded the videos with my HD Video Camcorder, with the resolution in the Users Manual saying 720P/60FPS: 1280 x 720 (60fps).
I've attached screen grabs of the option boxe for one of the clips.
I've recorded videos showing waves, surfing and water fun. I want to put them all together as a movie with some sections in slowmotion and with small titles throughout the movie. Further on i added som transitions and effects.
I chose the "share" option -> Create Video File -> Custom -> Microsoft AVI files (*.avi).
- The save options for that one is:
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
Uncompressed
PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Re: Pro X5 is adding lines in top and bottom of the video
The solution was so simple!
I went to Start -> All Programs -> DivX Plus -> Codec settings
By unticking the option "Show DivX Watermark On Video" the problem was solved
But thank you anyway for your quick response and help
