[BUG] ASP 1.0.1.10 - Randomly changing Curves histogram
1. Select RAW image (doesn't seem to happen with JPGs).
2. Enable/Disable/Enable/Disable/Enable/Disable... Curves, making sure that the curves are flat as they come with standard installation of ASP.
Result: Histogram on Curves panel changes randomly with each enable/disable click...
2. Enable/Disable/Enable/Disable/Enable/Disable... Curves, making sure that the curves are flat as they come with standard installation of ASP.
Result: Histogram on Curves panel changes randomly with each enable/disable click...

I can't reproduce what your saying here. My raw format is Sony A700. What raw format are you working with?
Thanks.

Re: [BUG] ASP 1.0.1.10 - Randomly changing Curves histogram
The changes are mostly visible on the Curves panel histogram, not the main histogram, although sometimes happen there as well. The changes are also not very dramatic, unless there are clipped shadows -- then the shadow clipping jumps up and down rather significantly.

Re: [BUG] ASP 1.0.1.10 - Randomly changing Curves histogram
I can reproduce this with NEFs.thufor wrote:Result: Histogram on Curves panel changes randomly with each enable/disable click...
No visual impact on the image it seems but the histogram changes....
Time for the monkey.

Re: [BUG] ASP 1.0.1.10 - Randomly changing Curves histogram
Please can you explain a little more what you are doing and what is happening - perhaps with screen shots?thufor wrote:1. Select RAW image.

What do you mean when you say "making sure that the curves are flat"? Does it only happen with some images?
I have had two similr problems which I have reported, one now seems to be fixed but not the other more complicated one.
Prior to version 1.0.1.9 I found that I could reproduce something like you by toggling within History i.e. Initial Settings plus Curves Adjustment, back to Initial Settings and again forward to Curves Adjustment was losing the Curves change completely.
The second issue is to do with toggling on and off Lens Correction, which still results in random Histogram results with version 1.0.1.10

Naked image (I tried it on a D700 NEF), no adjustments at all. Only toggle curves on/off -> Histogram in curves tool changes.Tadjio wrote:Please can you explain a little more what you are doing and what is happening - perhaps with screen shots?

Re: [BUG] ASP 1.0.1.10 - Randomly changing Curves histogram
I tried that on a Pentax K5 DNG file under OSX and nothing changes in the histogram, but the preview images seems to move ever so slightly... Might just be a screen refresh...Tadjio wrote:I tried that on a Canon 500D .CR2 file under Windows and nothing changes...afx wrote:Naked image (I tried it on a D700 NEF), no adjustments at all. I get zero change as well. I get a little disk activity at first but then it quiets down through all the rest of the D/E's

Re: [BUG] ASP 1.0.1.10 - Randomly changing Curves histogram
I assume you mean checking and unchecking the "apply" box in curves. I can't reproduce anything so dramatic, but on/off does cause cllipped highlights to disappear and reappear on the histogram.thufor wrote:1. Select RAW image (doesn't seem to happen with JPGs).
2. Enable/Disable/Enable/Disable/Enable/Disable... Curves, making sure that the curves are flat as they come with standard installation of ASP.

Which I discovered is probably a separate error. ON some images clipped highlights don't indicate (no tall spike at right edge), even when the curve is obviously way above zero at the right. I found that the tall spike is actually there, but is is hidden just outside the histogram window. If I pull down on the upper left slider, the hidden edge of the histogram comes into view. Teh width of the histogram changes slightly as I do on/off cycles.
I wonder if you are seeing a similar effect of the histogram width varying compared to the histogram window. (All of this is in the curves histogram.)
For what it's worth I have tools floating on second monitor and widened from default width.
