Hi,
i'm using ASP with a catalougs. I moved a folder of pictures into another folder within ASP and it seems as if it has been moved, but on my HDD the folder is still in the same place.
How can i keep the filesystem and the cataloug structure syncron?
bye

Re: Cataloug out of sync
not a specialist in using catalogs, but i think you would have to reimport the whole structure.
best practice is to only catalog images that wont be moved around anymore. then the catalogs in ASP work pretty well.

hmm but moving pictures is one of the most basic exercises in a cataloug. I think at least this should work without any problems!

Hi, When you move things from one folder to another in the catalog, it only moves the items with in the catalog itsself,as the catalog is only as it says a catalog a directory to find your photos quickly and efficiently as possible by storing the photos information and its location of the disk drive.
I hope this as made sense and clarified it.

Hi,
that's not true. Sometimes it also moves the pictures to the new folder.
If the catalogs are imitating the folder structure they should also contain the real folder structure. The only other possibility is writing xmp files, deleting the pictures from the catalog and then reimporting them. This is senseless work!
