VSX5 Unable to compress the audio

Post by Max Meng »

Hi all,

I'm new here and also new to use VS.

I've met an issue that has been raised years before, but I couldn't find a "solution" in the earlier posts.

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... d65283b5bf
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 624#p96774

What I'm doing is trying to CUT some XVID video and save them with their original format via the following steps:

Share > Create Video File > Same as First Video Clip. The progress will go through to 90%, then I will get the error message:

Unable to compress the audio
[17103:10:5]

:| Years passed away since this error first been raised, has any one find a "solution"?

Decompress the original won't be a choice when hundreds tasks are out there. :|

The detail infomation about the video I'm working on, hope it will provide more details.

Go to forums in the Internet, where they discuss video-editing with open-source codecs like
XviD (the team that developed it, were the "purists" that kept the format FREE, in contrast
to those that went ahead and created (and developed further) DviX as a commercial venture).
DivX and XviD were very popular amongst those that a few years ago were actively engaged
in the "sport"of DVD ripping and transcoding with the goal of reducing the size of the movie
contained in the optical disk, for archival purposes. Needless to say, if you want to work
with DviX or Xvid, make sure to have the relevant codecs installed from trustworthy sources.
Good guys always win

Never used Nandub until today.

Using Xvid and Mp3 sources, Nandub produced AVI files that I could not share in VSX5, there was always an audio error 17103:9:3 (unable to access the audio codec driver).

With the same Xvid and Mp3 source files, VirtualDub produced files that could be shared (same as first) in VSX5.
