Guys, I am new here. Been a corel customer for a few years starting with VS x2, but never needed to do what I am trying to do now. I have shot some "instructional" video for my company, but there is a bad background hum and white noise with the local environment. I tried splitting out the audio and cleaned it up with bluefx, which worked nicely. The problem is that when I use scene transition effects such as a swipe or something, the audio and video get out of sync. There is no way of cleaning audio right in the video track so that is out. No way I know of to recombine the tracks after "fixing" them. The transitions work great with the audio in the video track of course, but it seems to me there should be some way of "locking" them together so they do not look like a badly dubbed Jackie Chan movie. Please help.
Also is there a way to "group" edit all the audio and video tracks to apply the same filters, say for color correction, or noise hum? Or must they all be done individually? I am not a novice user, but by no means a fully experienced one either...so go slow and easy so I can grasp it.

Hi
A few options to consider, first the filter issue.
You can Copy and Paste Attributes from one clip to another, or several adjacent clips.
If you apply a filter to the first clip, right click the clip and select "Copy Attributes"
Use Shift+Click to select the last clip, this will select "all"---right click and "Paste Attributes"
I have just tried and it does work with the audio filters.
-----------------------------
Audio a few options
Edit the video, then Share-Create Sound file --- will create a wav of the entire project, this of course could be quite large. Clean up the audio file, add to timeline mute all other video, render to a single file.
---------------------------
Before cutting/editing video file, split audio ... add audio filter "clean up" share create Video File - Same as first Video Clip. Creates new video using original video files properties, with good sound.
Edit the new video file.

Re: Problems with Video and Audio Syn VSx5
Thanks for the reply. For the video file solution:
Are you saying before you add it to the timeline? Before you trim it? I am a little confused on this one. The audio I understand, but it sounds like the second one you mentioned with the video file solution may be the best way to do it, but I don't fully understand it. Are you creating and rendering each individual video clip? If so the larger audio file may be the best.
Just wish there was a "keep video/audio in sync" button. Good update for a patch huh?

Re: Problems with Video and Audio Syn VSx5
Hi
How you approach this really depends on the files you are working with, their length etc...
------------------------------
Do not split audio until you have edited the top track, once you have completed the cuts and transitions then Split Audio.
You can use Ripple Editing to lock the two tracks together.
Apply the audio filter to the first clip, copy/paste the attributes to the rest.
-----------------------------
You seem to have done quite a bit of editing so try this...........
Start a new Project --- Add the original video file to the timeline
Split Audio
Apply the filters to clean the sound.
Share Create Video File - same as First Clip
A new video file will be created with good audio.
If you wish, edit this starting over again, but you can replace the original.
Using Windows Explore - rename the original video file add "copy" to the file name.
Open the original project, you will receive a re-link request.
Navigate to find the new file created above.
This should replace the original in the edited project.
Save the project giving it a new name.
Remove the Split Audio files,
Deselect mute for the video clips.
Continue to edit the top track

Re: Problems with Video and Audio Syn VSx5
Ok,
I did redit by rendering whole video in mp4 and then splitting audio and video track, and then editing audio track and re-rendering as whole as a new video file. Worked fine, or so it seemed.
It plays fine in the windows media player, but when I upload it to youtube, the video starts half way through the footage with the audio starting at the beginning and running the full audio after the video footage runs out with a black screen for the rest of the audio length. Needless to say, this is a big problem. All Corel wants to do is to charge me to fix an obvious bug. (smacks of racketeering to me..hmm) It also says this when I try to upload to youtube: We see irregularities in the aspect ratio of your uploaded video file. If your upload does not fit well in the video player, read this article for tips.
Yet, I have used the "youtube" button to make the conversion AS well as have tried to use the mp4hd one. Also even tried wmv with horrible audio pops and clicks in audio after rendering.
What's going on? Please help.

Re: Problems with Video and Audio Syn VSx5
Hi Mark
Can you give the details of the original video file.
Right click the clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they?
How long is the project in minutes.
How are you uploading to you tube, are you using video studio with the project files open.?
After editing the project you should create a new video file.
Share Create video File--what options did you choose
Share Upload to Web is also available and will create a Mp4 file. when complete cancel the web upload login.
The video file is saved to the hard drive, a thumbnail placed in the library.
Right click the thumbnail and select properties what are they?
Play the video, are you sure this file works ok.
Upload the new video file to youtube, do not use video studio to upload the project..
-----------------------------
Non - Square Pixel Rendering, normally this option is selected, however depending on what you create may require this to be de-selected.
So we need to know the original properties and what video you created.
