Adding a transparent circle overlay

Post by rpm »

I am trying to do a highlight film for my son's football game. On TV you see hi-lite film with a particular player spotlighted with a yellow circle - or even just a hand drawn circle around the figure which follows the player. Can this be done in Corel VideoStudio Pro X4?

Putting a circle around a static object is easy - it's making it follow a moving object which is the problem.

To just put a circle around an object there are a number of alternatives - one is to draw it using the Painting Creator in VideoStudio ("Tools >> Painting Creator) - this will allow you to hand draw a circle on the video. Second option is to create an image of a circle on a transparent background such as a .png - put your video in the top track and the image in the overlay and adjust it's position to cover the player, third option is to draw a circle on a plain blue background save it as a jpeg and again put the video in the top and the image in the overlay but this time use the 'Chroma Key' option to make the blue vanish and just leave the circle.

but how to make it move with the player ??
