Blip in x4

Post by Daisey »

Hi there
I have been using corel videostudio for a few years now. And for the most part have been satisfied.
Each year i make a DVD for my sports team, which has alot of fast action shots and alot of cuts and transitions.
I experienced the "blip" with vs x2, but had no issue with x3. However with vs x4 it seems to be back.
Heres just a small part of about an hour long DVD.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzpsN4Qp ... e=youtu.be

As you can see, it seems to be about a second after any transition or cut.
I use a sony sr1 camera but dont record in avchd, only standard def.

Any ideas or tips would be very much appreciated.

Perhaps for my benefit Daisey you could explain what you mean by a blip - I have watched your clip 4 times and am unable to determine any problem - you say it happens around one second after a transition - but they were coming so fast there hardly seemed to be a second between them.

Sorry
Its a stutter. Like a frame or two has been duplicated.
So say for example the frames go 1,2,3,4,5,6, but instead it goes 1,2,3,3,3,4,5,6,
Its only for a split second. But it happens after every cut i do.
Its seems fine in the vs x4 program, but once rendered it has these stutters every cut.

Hi Daisy

if you place the video into the timeline you should be able to view the clip frame by frame by clicking the digital clock to identify duplicate frames.

From the original project disable Smart Render, see if this option cures the problem.
Share Create Video File-choose a template, from the Save window select Options, then deselect Smart Render

Does that help

Hi Daisey,
I noticed some time ago that blibs in smart render mode seem to be related to the proxy file store folder location: the "deeper" it is located (sub/sub/sub..folder) the more the blibs occured with smart render. I have my smart proxy folder straight on the system drive (root). Just to know...where is this folder located in your case?

Hi erdna

Interesting..........

the default location for the Smart Proxy folder is here
C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor\My Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\14.0

I doubt that Daisy has changed this location, but unsure if Smart Proxy is an issue as we don't know the properties of the video file.
