This may have been asked/answered but the search is so generic that I can't sift thru 1000's of posts.
When I come up with a project ready to burn and it is over the "limit", say by 0.3-0.5 GB VS4 says it is too big (as shown on graph) but then says it can "try" to burn it . When I choose yes it then reconfigures the use bar and eliminates the RED zone. Does that mean it can burn that file? I also thought of saving to a DVD folder that is offered. Does that the folder then contain TS and VOB structure? It gives the same warning for that option but if it would burn a bigger file I could Use DVD Shrink to make it fit. Or should I save as an 8GB DVD and then Shrink it.
Thanks
Sean

Re: SIze limitation
IMHO using the 8 GB video folder > Shrink route would be better. VS can shrink a movie but it only works if the amount above 4.7 GB is fairly small, and in any case, again IMHO, the end result is nowhere near as good as Shrink which is of course specifically designed for that specific purpose. Nero's Recode also does a great job with non-copyright video - which is not surprising since the German guy who designed Shrink now works for Nero!
And yes, the DVD Folder created by VS is a Video_TS folder...

Thanks for the prompt reply. I burned the file ,about 5.1 gb and it seemed to work. i was using 640 x 480 helmet cam footage so hard to tel if there was any loss. i will tr a larger file and Shrink - that would allow for some videos I've always wanted to make.
