Guys I have made a movie and its 2 hours long,i knew trying to save this to a 4.7 gb dvd I would lose a little quality, well I'm impressed with the results, but for some reason the finish movie isn't full screen, now I know its saved at 4:3 not 16:9, and with 4:3 I expected to have space on both side of the screen when watching it on a TV or computer . But I also have quite a bit of space on the bottom and top as well. Here the properties of my project.
Now I know I saved the video data rate at 6800 Kbps instead of 8000 Kbps.I did this because it decreased the size of the project, but still the project was "red lined" and warned me that it might not fit.I would have to lower the kbps to around 5000 or a little less to have no red. But the movie burned fine, but like i said its not full screen , is this because its saved at 6800 kbps,is there anything I can do to correct this. Its not 720 X 480 like any other video.
Any advice, other than shorten my movie? Here's the second picture for reference
. I can send a picture of what the out come video looks like compared to other normal video.
Thanks for your help once again.

Re: Project not full screen
The fact of the matter is that a 2 hour video will simply not fit onto a 4.7 GB single layer DVD with a bitrate of 6800. As you rightly observed, the bitrate would need to be reduced below 5000 -- and probably closer to 4000 kbps -- for it to fit properly. In the meantime, I suspect that VS may have reduced your frame size to get the project to fit onto the single layer DVD since you had told it to maintain the 6800 bitrate. So try going below 5000...
Unfortunately, as you may know, lowering the bitrate will lower the final quality of the DVD. Down around the 4000 kbps mark the quality will be no better than a VHS videotape. If that is unacceptable, then you would need to consider either burning to a dual layer DVD or else splitting the project in half and burning both halves with a bitrate of 8000 kbps to maintain as high a quality as possible.

Re: Project not full screen
Hi , I thought I should report back and see if I can get this figured out,I rendered the same footage using a different program, which I don't like, but the dvd was full screen. This have happened to me before as well, but I never tried to fix the problem, I simply used Corel Video studio to edit my footage and made a dvd out of the saved exported file using a different program.I would much rather use this VS. Anyone with thoughts why this happens,'' ((((((for some reason the finish movie isn't full screen, now I know its saved at 4:3 not 16:9, and with 4:3 I expected to have space on both side of the screen when watching it on a 16:9 TV or 16:9 computer . Thanks
