VSX5 Ultimate unspecified error

Post by Ken Veal »

Whilst in the Corel Guide this message came up
The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning.
Please contact Corel Tech Support and send the dump file for analysis.

Hi Kenneth

Now you should know better......we need to know what you were doing when the error occurred.

Does it happen every time, or is it intermittent?

What type of files were you working with, give their properties.

OK , T.A.
I was going to reply to this post but your reply beat me to it !
1. I was not working on any files at the time,I was about to explore the Corel Guide(to try and get my head around the differences in the libraries from VS11+ which was my previous version). The guide shows automatically on top of an untitled project on opening the programme.
2 I looked at trying to find a way to contact Corel Tech Support,I seemed to go round in circles, it is not very clear where you actually find the way to get to them.
3 I tried to find the file mentioned , but could not find it.A windows search told me I could not access it or something similar, so I could not send it.
Since then I have done a disc clean up, gone though every temp folder+file I could find and deleted all the temp files in those folders. This seems to have done the trick, as so far, everything seems to be tickerty boo

Hi

Thanks Kenneth

The unspecified error is difficult to identify, if the program can't name it then you have no chance.

The Corel Support is normally accessed from your Corel Account.
If its working now then you have no worries.

Earlier today my X4 gave an error on start, never seen that before, but worked ok the next time.

Normally i don’t have any problems unless i have been messing about with the program.

Anyway glad you seem to be working ok :D
