When is Paintshop 5X coming Out?

Does anyone know when PaintShop 5X will be coming out?

No one here knows, and Corel is unlikely to tell us until it is actually released.

Roughly, though, a new version is released on a roughly annual basis. So if you go to the wishlist post up the top of the forum and see when the first post in it was made, then add a year, you will have a rough idea...

Well....a year and six months or so. They were releasing once a year then around version 12.5 (came out a year after version 12) they started going 1 year and 4 to 8 months.

From x2 to x3 was 1 year and 4 months. From x3 to x4 was 1 year and 8 months. So a year is close but add another six to eight months as a safety net.

X4 was released in September of 2011. So between September of 2012 and March of 2013. Assuming they keep their usual schedule.

Sept 2007 for X2 / 12
Jan 2010 for X3 / 13 so 2 years and 3 months there.
Sept 2011 for X4

The question though really becomes what new features or improvements would you want in X 5 to make it worth while buying a new update. How will it improve your photography or processing . What do you really need rather than want.

Possibly increasing the capability to run a 64 bit version and thus access more Ram memory to allow invilved processing of even larger images.
