MF4 can't find ADSTech DVD Xpress capture driver

Post by Nautical_Lady »

I've just installed MF4. When clicking the "camcorder" icon to capture video from my ADSTech DVD Xpress I receive the following error message:

"No capture driver is available in the system."

I downloaded and installed DVD Xpress Rev.2 Drivers for Windows 2000/XP. I unzipped the files into the C:\Program Files\ADSTech DVD Xpress directory.

In the Advanced Capture Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Change Capture Plugin window the "ADS Instant DVD USB2" isn't available as a selection option.

I was able to capture from the DVD Xpress device using MF3 without any problems.

Any ideas where to start?

I have DELL Dimension 2400 - Pentium 4 CPU 2.66GHz - 1GB RAM - Windows XP SP2 - 80GB hard drive with 63GB free

Either ADS Tech or Ulead will have to create a plugin to allow MF4 to "see" the DVD Xpress. I don't think the plugin exists yet.

You can still capture with MF3, or ADS Tech's CapWiz software. Then use the captured mpeg files in MF4.

Thanks for such a quick reply ... I'm only sorry the news wasn't better.
