Crop overlay images-
Is there any way to crop a video clip in an overlay track-not just change the size of the entire image keeping it intact.

Hi
I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do.
I assume you are working with a video file, as you also mention image
Do you mean cutting the video file to reduce its length?
or resize the frame to maybe change the shape from 4:3 to 16:9
Click the video in the overlay track to select it.
the preview screen shows the frame having yellow corners, drag the corners to resize the frame.
you may see a green square this will distort the frame.
Right click the image on screen for other resize options.
Is that the type of thing you are looking for

Re: Crop overlay images-
We do a Public Access program that features interview segments.
If you notice, on other network type shows there is a full screen of the host and of the guest. They also show both host & guest together in a single screen , but the images are cropped to fit-not reduced proportionally (re-sized).

Re: Crop overlay images-
I'm hoping the screen shot attached is the sort of thing your after
i did this in about 5 minutes by putting the two videos - one in each overlay track - choosing 'Fit to screen' for each one - then applied the 'Cropping' filter to each one. You then have to customise each filter by opening the 'options ' panel - then first use the small drop down to choose a vertical crop - then use 'Customise Filter' to set the crop to 50% and select which part - I did find it was necessary on the no.2 overlay track to remove the tick from the 'Fill Color' option or else that colour overlayed the other half. Also needed a little bit of 'manipulation' on returning to the project screen to get both bits in the right place.
A little bit of a fiddle - but once mastered easy to do.

Thanks-You're right it is a bit of a fiddle, but I'll keep at it.

Re: Crop overlay images-
I am able to get the cropping correct as I wanted- but when I play it as a project the video stutters, although it's in sync.
