VSX5 and 1080p50(60)
I just downloaded and installed VSX5. Looks very simular to X4 for the basic editing function. I was specifically interested in the 1080p 50/60 issue (AVCHD 50p). Works wel, but just like with Kingston's method for X4 it creates 25p (frame repetition) instead of 50p in the processed zones (text, crossfade,... I still prefer Arix's method in VSX2 which keeps 50p all the way through. The resulting file is high bitrate mpeg2 (~40Mb/s), so quite large, but plays smooth and flawless (no VS2 blibs!), also on MMplayers

Re: VSX5 and 1080p50(60)
I'm not having any trouble in X5 with 60p. Transitions and animated text are 60p when I create a file using a custom profile. I sequentially numbered the frames (overlay) in my 60p source video. After creating a video, all the frames are accounted for, even through transitions. None are skipped.
I make sure that in the Settings menu there is a checkmark next to "Enable 50p/60p editing."
There is a problem if I create a file using "Create same as first" and the source clip is Mpeg-2. That produces a video that is 29.97fps even though the first clip is 60p. So, I have to use a custom profile.
If Smart Proxy is on, you might have problems viewing the frames in the preview if the Smart Proxy files are created at 25/29.97fps. That may happen automatically even if your source video is 60p. You will have to change the Smart Proxy settings manually.

Thanks a lot Kingston. The "Enable 50/60p editing" setting was the problem!

Hi Kingston, just thinking on your X4 proposal for 50/60p you sugested some time ago, I wonder if you did also check this workflow with numbered frames on processed parts. In my verifications, also with numbered frames, I got the 25p issue.

Re: VSX5 and 1080p50(60)
Thank you erdna by keeping my method
I didn't try X5 yet, for now I can produce AVCHD 50/60 p with X4.
I m using as template for editing the template from X2, and target custom m2t format
at 18000 kbbs (the maximum it can gets) , AVCHD , h.264 , frame based , 50 frames /second 1920x1080.
Note: I could not do it with X4 trial version or earlyer version, I have all software updates, seems like Corel fixed something in latest X4 version...
I didn't check processed zones (text, crossfade..) , but for regular video it's ok...
What is the AVCHD maximum bitrate that X5 let to do in X5 ?

Re: VSX5 and 1080p50(60)
Highest AVCHD bitrate seems to be 20Mb/s (for me). Today I tested Ken Berry's proposal to get 26Kb/s, but playback seems to frequently stop. A couple of hours ago I posted a question about this issue .
