I just read Ken Berry's post, 'EasyCap or EzCap?' Yes, I did get VideoStudio 10SE with an EasyCap device ('trusting' Amazon). Both seem to work. However, the manual 'VideoStudio SE, 'marked User Guide, Ulead Systems, Inc., March 2006, does not explain many simple functions which either exist or appear to exist. Though a bit better, I have the same problem with the 'VideoStudio SE Plus,' manual, also marked the same way, but with the addition: C28-1A0-110-0A0001.
I'm trying to complete a simple video and DVD project for my wife's kindergarten class, and it's taking a long time trying to figure things out by trial-and-error. Examples are: (1) freeze a credit roll on the last segment of text so it does not roll off the screen. Then do a fade to black. (2) fade text in and out over video with a pause between without using two identical title transitions (I used one with fade-in, immediately followed by one with fade-out). There are other things I can't figure out.
Does anyone know of a link to information which explains in detail the 'how to' of this software, or can answer some simple questions? I (and my wife and her class, who've been waiting a long time!) would appreciate any help I can get.

Re: VideoStudio 10SE
If you ask your "simple questions" on these forums - there are many people who are willing to help you - ask your questions starting a new topic for each new problem and I'm sure you will receive help.
If you want to freeze text just take a still image of the last frame and put it in the overlay track to cover the end of the scroll - to fade to black there is a transition called 'fade to black' put that over the video, or put a black colour block in the video track and use a crossfade transition - what is wrong with using two identical titles and have one fade in and the next one fade out , or use three and have the middle one static for whatever time you want - it is what I would do
As for tutorial help - there are many in these forums here :- http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewforum.php?f=27
There are also a large number of tutorials on Youtube - just go to youtube and search 'VideoStudio' and you will find plenty to watch.

Hi Roy
Text Animation—other options
Create a text box that enters the screen to the middle.
Drag the text box to the library, this creates a copy.
Drag the copy to timeline adjacent to first text box
Disable animation, will pause the text on screen
or set a different animation. (fade out)
The two “TT's” icon will give a manual approach to setting the animations
Works with most but not all animation types.
Pause Durations can be set using the bar immediately below the preview screen.

Answer 2, choose Fade animations --select “TT” – select cross fade—set text, word, character or line-- set Pause Duration.

Re: VideoStudio 10SE
Brian and Trevor,
Thanks to both for replying. I'd hoped to reply yesterday, but spent the day trying to get things to work.
I couldn't figure out how to take a still of the last part of the scrolling text. I clicked on the title clip and scrolled to the text I wanted to freeze. Then I selected the Clip menu, but 'Save as still image' was greyed out! I tried it again selecting the Video track (nothing there since credits roll over black), but got the same results. I even created a separate title frame with the freeze text and tried to put it in the overlay track, but it didn't show there. Since the overlay track only seems to accept a video clip, I tried to convert my text to video. I tried so many ways to get a video clip of the text in the overlay track I can't remember what I did. But none of them worked. So I gave up, eliminated the 'freeze' text from the scrolling clip, and put it in two single title clips (one to fade in and one to fade out) following the scrolling clip. When the scroll completes, the freeze text fades in and out.
Thanks for the tips on fade to black. I just though there was a one-step way, rather than creating several clips and make sure the text aligns, and then do it again if I make an edit.
In my scrolling title clip, though the distance between pause handles sets a pause length, it doesn't seem to matter where in the Preview timeline the pause handles are relative to the clip length, the pause always occurs on the last frame of text. After the pause, that text scrolls off the screen. What if I wanted to pause in the middle of the scroll? I couldn't find a way. The only exception I found was if I place the left handle at the start of the clip. Then the pause occurs before the scroll. It seems that the scrolling animation causes the problem. I even tried fading the scrolling clip in from black, without success. I don't think you can add more than one animation to a clip, right?
Also, is there a way to set the pause to an exact length, which you can't do by dragging handles? Of course I can use the jog slider to mark each handle position.
Thanks also for the links.
Roy

Re: VideoStudio 10SE
Hi Roy
I have send an e-mail and attached a Video Studio Project, VSP file.
It contains a few sample text using animation, Nothing complicated.
You should be able to open the project file using Video Studio 10.
View the 2 TT's options to see the options used to create the animations

Re: VideoStudio 10SE
Trevor,
I haven't received the email yet. so I'll wait to see if it arrives. I'm ready to start DVD authoring, which I've not done with VideoStudio before. Wonder how that will go?
Thanks,
Roy
