Icons/Symbols In Film Clips

Post by woxof »

Any list of what the little symbols mean in the video clips? I stumbled (the usual method for finding anything out in Video Studio) upon somebody posting that twin icons that look like movie film mean that the clip has been through Smart Proxy. Can anybody tell me what all these cryptic symbols/icons/whatevers mean? I have the Picture Yourself book and the pamphlet that comes with VS4 and I can't find a simple page that explains these. How lame.
Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean

Unfortunately not specifically.

The double icon we know represents the Smart Proxy file.
The single icon show a filter or filters have been used within the clip. FX section
View the attributes tab to identify the filter type. You can add upto 5 filters but only see one icon?

Once again thanks for your help.
As you may have ascertained patience is a virtue that I am often lacking. I just saw Anthony Hopkins' excellent portrayal of St. Paul (again) and it reminded me that there are bigger issues to cause my underwear to get all bunched up.
I've also noted a symbol that is a vertical/horizontal line joined at the bottom left corner as in one half of a square. I see it on video tracks below the main track. It is so obvious that these are additional tracks that i have to believe these indicate something else.
As for the VSP file for titles I will check my computer to see if they are hidden away somewhere as .vsp files/s first. But I may take you up on your generous offer.
Thanks
Sean
