Hi
I recently bought a new Bamboo (ie latest version) and found that it works with the Clone tool for maybe 10 sec and then stops. Sometimes it allows you to right click and select a source. Mostly not. If you do select a source and then drag the pen, nothing happens (like working on another layer- but there is only one).
Pretty annoying- this is why I bought the Bamboo, and it is even promoted on the Corel US web site as a useful graphics tool but it doesn’t work with a key product of theirs: http://www.corel.com/corel/product/index.jsp?pid=prod3720126&cid=catalog20038&segid=500006&storeKey=us&languageCode=en
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a bug? does anyone know how to work around (rather than use a mouse every time I want to Clone)?
Maybe PSP should remove their promotion on their site until this is fixed...otherwise misleading...and expensive to users.
cheers
BC

Re: PSP4 and Wacom Bamboo problems
I'm not sure of what the problem could be. I use a Bamboo all the time with x4 and have no issues at all.
I would suggest, to start with, go to Palettes/Brush Variance. Set everything to 'Normal'. This will give you a base point to start with.
Sometimes the x4/Bamboo combinations doesn't work if 'Pressure' is set.
Regards

Re: PSP4 and Wacom Bamboo problems
I tried setting everything to normal- worked for a few strokes and then stopped. So I now know that the brush doesn't work either...great.
BTW I am using Win 7
Any help appreciated...

Re: PSP4 and Wacom Bamboo problems
I have x4 and a Bamboo on 2 computers. (A laptop and a desktop). Both run Win 7. Both with 'just' 4 gig.I have no issues with using the Bamboo apart from the Brush Variances as I pointed out. So given that I, and others, have no issues it seems to a problem with your set up.
Have you tried to make the brush very small and then increasing it's size until the problem occurs. It may be a memory issue.
Keep trying. The Bamboo makes life much easier.

Re: PSP4 and Wacom Bamboo problems
I am away for a couple of days and will try again then.
Wacom have palmed me off and said it is a PSP issue. Suppose it is but would have thought that they'd work together to sort it out.
Seems disappointing that everything has to be "normal" ie no "pressure".
Thanks for advice though.
Haven't tried yet on AfterShot Pro...

I'm not saying you have to use normal but by going back to normal you can then start to 'customise' the settings to suit. It's just like doing a reset.

Re: PSP4 and Wacom Bamboo problems
This is a fairly common problem with Wacom tablets and PSPX3 and X4. There are several posts about it here, on the PSPUG forum and at Michele's PSP 101 forum. The problem is usually caused by using the most recent driver (using an older driver usually fixes the problem) and in some cases the problem is solved by not using the docking station.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16
