Hi, Guys, I am really new to video Studio Pro X4, so forgive my ignorance. My question is fairly simple, I think. How can I isolate a single cell (frame) OF A VIDEO CLIP AND EXPORT IT OR SAV E IT AS A JPG OR BMP OR SOME OTHER GRAPHICS FORMAT FOR USE AS A PIC IN ANOTHER APPLICATION? i.e. photosho, paint shop, Corel Draw, etc.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Saving a single frame
put the video you want a frame from in the top video track
now go to 'Settings >>> preferences' and check where the working folder is (so you can find the picture) - or change it to a different working folder if you prefer.
while still in preferences click on the little 'Capture' tab in there and choose whether you want a jpeg or a bitmap - click OK
get the frame you want to copy displayed in the preview window and click on the small word 'Edit' (not the big "2 Edit" tab) and choose "Take a snapshot" - a picture of the format you chose will be placed in the working folder you chose.
a word of warning - video is basically a low resolution image and so will your capture be - so do not expect to make an A3 print and have a photographic masterpiece.

Hi
Just to add that you have two options, taking a snapshot in Project Playback and taking the snapshot in Clip Playback.
Project playback will take a shot of the details showing in the preview screen, titles and all.
It will effectively use the project properties frame size, up-scaling for 16:9
In Clip mode the image is created using the video files frame size, sounds correct but may not be what you want depending on the type of video file you are using, HD or SD

Re: Saving a single frame
BrianCee, Thanks loads! I'll give that a try. And I don't really expect high quality results. As a matter of fact, what I am thinking of doing is converting a clip to monochrome then RotoSketch it and then capturing the frames and then manipulating them in PaintShop or Corel Graphics for some creative special effcts.

Thanks, lata, I'll try both methods. You guys are great in responding and I really appreciate it
