Corel Paint Shop Pro Troubles

Post by luxy »

Hi, I just wanted to ask anyone if they can help me with this Corel Paint Shop Pro problem:

Ok, so I put up an image to make, say a signature. Then on a new layer I put some shapes on that go out of the edges. Then, when I finish adding all the shapes, I get the freehand selection tool (point to point). If I select the area that I want to delete, but when I press delete, that whole layer disapears. This is the link to a picture of my settings before I start the selection: http://i40.tinypic.com/2m81s2x.png

If anyone can help me that would be great, as it has really stoped me from doing stuff on this program. :(

Hi luxy, Can you be a bit clearer , perhaps numbered list of the steps you are taking and sample image and shapes.

"I put up an image to make, say a signature" i presume this is a raster layer

"Then on a new layer I put some shapes on that go out of the edges" does this mean a vector layer with shapes that touch the edges or on a canvas so that they have been moved off the edges and outside a bit.

What layer are you doing your selection on? Have you flattened the layers before starting your selection and delete?

Are you creating a signature for your watermark? I did create a tutorial on how to create and place a watermark on your photos its for PSP x2 ultimate but you can still apply it to PSP x3- x3.

About your issue, you may have selected the different layer that is why the whole layer disappears. Also, just like what hart mentioned, I suggested to flattened the layers to put all the elements in one layer.

This will happen if you haven't converted the vector layer into a raster layer. I presume your shapes are on a vector layer.l
