Installing VS x4 on a new computer

Post by Robbo »

Hi, I am new to this forum, so please forgive me if I am asking the obvious - I have searched the forum but cannot see the answer I am looking for.

I currently have Video Studio Pro X4 on my laptop and am very pleased with it, but my laptop does struggle sometimes with HD video editing.

I now have been given a desktop PC with a faster processor, faster graphics card and more memory.

I obviously now want to move my software from my laptop to my desktop and don't want to have to buy a new licence for the software.

Can I just unistall the software from my laptop, and then put a new install on the desktop PC, or is it more complicated than this?

Any help or advice would be most appreciated. :)

Hi Robbo

Welcome to the forums……

As far as I know the EULA allows you to install Corel programs on three PC’s provided you only use one at a time.

I also need some clarification of the Licence Agreement for Video Studio X4 and Paint Shop Pro x4 Ultimate bundle which I have recently purchased. Reading the EULA for each product I am concerned that I can only install Video Studio on one computer but can install Paint Shop Pro on 3 machines subject to conditions. I own two PC's one at my main home in Sydney and a second PC at a rural home where I spend a good deal of my time. I really need to install these two products on this second computer also so I can try to learn how to use them when I have more spare time. I am concerned that if I try to instal on this country computer it will cause me problems with the registration of my Sydney computer. Obviously I cannot be at two places at the same time and I am the only user of both these computers, so the programs cannot be in use at the same time.
Any advice or reassurance would be much appreciated
Marge.

Be reassured. I -- and many others here -- have installed the same version of both programs on more than one computer, and have never had any registration problems. In fact I seem to recall someone from Corel actually confirming this was OK, but that was some time ago. But rest assured you will be OK. And now you have two system Admin people having told you the same thing.

As lata said above, the only limitation of which we are aware is that you can only having the program playing on one computer at a time. But it sounds as though you would be doing that anyway...

Thanks a million for your quick reply. I feel much better now. You are right I will definitely not be using either program on two computers at the same time. I have earlier versions installed on my second machine but would really like to have them working on the same versions so that I can work on my projects at either location.
Do you know if the same useage applies to Win DVD Pro 11? I bought this at the same time as I thought it was about time I updated all my software.
Thanks again
Marge
