PSP X4 Ult Crashes when opening large jpeg file

Whenever I try to open jpeg files larger than 2MB PSP 4 crashes.

The files open fine in PSP 3

Aby ideas?

Does it happen every time? I just created a 12 MB JPG image and had no trouble at all opening it in X4. Maybe you've got a corrupted file.

You may want to check if this happens on all the large files that you are opening or just one file. You can also try reseting your workspace, since that can also be the problem.

You can do that by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key then double-click on the PSP icon then when you received the message "DO YOU WAN TO RESTORE PAINTSHOP Pro TO ITS DEFAULT STATE?" just click OK.

It happens every time.

I did reset the the workspace.

It happens with every jpeg file larger than about 2.5 MB

For sure not a corrupted file.

I can open the same file in PSP 3 without problem.

I work with 92meg tiffs and save a copy as a jpeg that is about 5meg everytime as a backup for other jobs. Never have a size issue.
