strange CPU-load on JPG-export ?!

Post by maggus »

Hi,

typically, when exporting RAWs as JPGs the CPU-load of my 2 cores is constant at approx. 99..100% .... that´s fine.
But sometimes I can see the strange load-figure as shown in the attached screenshot .... is there something wrong ?
There´s no other activity on this machine at this time.

Check your I/O stats and correlate with the CPU graph,

cheers

Hi afx,

once you´re waiting for an issue to happen ... it refuses to show up again :-)
I remember to have seen this already in the good old Bibble days ... but did not care for it.

Just a question about possible iostat params:
would a call like "iostat -m -t 1" be sufficient or are there specific params to be used ?
Whenever I see this phenomenon again I´ll try to capture iostat and follow up here, OK.

cheers and thanx
Markus

You are taxing my memory.....
Haven't used iostat seriously in ages....

Looking at the man page I would think you have the right invocation.
Check the I/O waits...

cheers
