Error. ASP: "Cachedb cannot be Locked & will not be opened."
I got this error today when I tried to open ASP: "Cachedb cannot be Locked & will not be opened." ASP then freezes and will not open. I can only stop the program by ending the process with the Win 7 Task Manager. I've tried clearing all caches with CCleaner but I suspect the problem lies with the ASP cache system. Anyone know what's going on? I searched the Corel Knowledgebase and got nowhere. Guess I'll need to submit a case. ARRRRGGHH.

Search for "*lock*" files in your AS user folder. Remove them and then start AS.

The problem happened after a Windows update. I needed to run ASP as Windows Administrator. It's working now; I just need to change the Admin. privileges for ASP.

Fix up the permissions for the AS user directory tree and never ever run an application with admin privilege. That is just an invitation for security problems.
