Re: Show only one menu on DVD insertion
Hi Ken
Can you give more details regarding your movie.
Have you completed the project by creating a mpeg2 file. Share Create Video File.
Is the video a single file or have you created two smaller video files?
The menu options can differ depending on how many movies you have.
For a single movie.
Create the menu and add the 2 chapters.
When you play the disc the menu will start with the main page showing the Title Video. (one link)
Playing this will access the Chapter menu showing two links.
Now the Title Menu only having the single link is a bit redundant as it does little, if you have the single file then you can hide this menu. (Edit Tab - Advanced Settings – Deselect Add Title Menu)
Now when you play the disc it will start with the chapter menu showing the two links. Playing either chapter will play to the end of the disc.
What happens next depends on the settings on the Navigation Controls.
Press the Cogwheel lower left, lower panel shows the navigation.
By default this option is set to play over and over again (auto repeat)
Ken does that help or do you need details on how to create the chapters?

Re: Show only one menu on DVD insertion
I will have added the video file and be in the create disc stage with only one clip in the media clip list.
The video file will be a single one with only one movie.
When the DVD is inserted , I want one menu to show , so that selecting it will play the whole disc as well as 2 others(possibly more) that will play those 2 or more chapters from the starting point of each chapter.
I do not want the DVD to auto repeat.
Thanks for the reply Trevor and more detail on chapter creation would be great!

Re: Show only one menu on DVD insertion
Hi Ken
DVD Menus
You can add more than one video file to the burner module.
For each video file you add to the burner module you will get one link in the Main (Title) menu
If you add say three video’s then you will see three links/thumbnails in the Title Menu.
The Navigation Controls affects the way these react to being played.
Auto Repeat will play the selected video, then play to the end, then repeat the whole disc.
Continue to play next clip, plays the selected clip, then plays the rest to the end of disc, then returns to menu
Back to Menu does what it says, after playing the selected video you are returned to the main Title menu allowing you to select another video.
So that’s how it works for video titles
Chapters.
You have a single video file, you can add Chapters to this video.
From the first page select Add/Edit Chapters
Choose the places you wish to add chapters, press Add Chapters
OK then Next window
Choose a template from the Gallery.
The preview screen shows the Title Menu displaying the single link/thumbnail.
Choose the Edit tab to modify the menu structure.
Below the preview screen shows Main Menu (Currently Displayed menu.) select the second option to view the Chapter Menu. You should now see your chapter menu page, again edit the menu.
Navigation Controls only affect the Title Menu so the Chapter Menu cannot be controlled..
Having only one video file the disc will either play for ever or return to menu after playing.
You can however start play from any Chapter, the disc will then play to the end.
If you wish to have say three videos that play individually and then return to menu allowing you to choose another, then you have to use three separate video files.
Clear as mud

Re: Show only one menu on DVD insertion
Hi Ken
Yep that’s looking pretty good.
can you add
19a …..do not Convert Compliant Video to be selected (ticked)
------------------------
Note :-If you are intending to hide the main menu then you do not need to edit it
Choose option 16 immediately after option 6
Then edit the chapter menu only.
------------------------
and 24 Close the burner module takes you back to the timeline.
Save the project give it a name, Burn Movie 1.
When you return to the project Share Create Disc will show the menu structure in tact.
The chapter names should also be ok?
Choosing to create a DVD Folder will allow you to play the completed movie on your pc, sometimes saves making those coasters.

Re: Show only one menu on DVD insertion
Hi Ken
Yes I would say you have it covered.
Just two comments:-
17……. Whilst customizing the template the option to save the template is available below the preview window.
This will save the template to your Favourites gallery allowing you to use it again.
23…….. As you have added a compliant video file, and selected Do Not convert compliant Mpeg files, then the conversion settings are not going to be used, so changing them will be ineffective, saying that it will do no harm.
Ok a little info on Mpeg Project Settings.
Go back to the edit timelines.
Start a new project
Change the Project Properties to use Mpeg2
Change the bit rate to use 4000, this is just a test.
Now go Share Create Disc
Select the Cogwheel and view the properties, they should be the same as your project properties.
