Coming over from Bibble, I am quite a bit confused about the import functionality. In the past I was used to letting Bibble import my images into a date based folder layout. I know that everything in ASP is reference based now, so it behaves a little differently. What is confusing me is the clone of the file system that gets created in my assets folder. As far as I can tell this is just an empty folder layout and nothing ever gets created in there. What is the point of this?
I am seeing the same file system layout in my catalog as well. This very annoying and I don't need to see that my files are in home or mnt or wherever I import them from. I prefer my catalog to be laid out according to date like it was in Bibble, example:
Catalog
--->2011
------>2011-12-24
------>2011-12-25
--->2012
------>2012-01-01
------>2012-01-02
ASP is laying it out like so:
Catalog
--->home
------>...2011-12-24
------>...2011-12-25
How can this be adjusted?

Re: Import Structure
I have ended up with my catalogs structured as you said you would like them. I did this a long time ago but will try to reproduce.
In explorer I think I may have deleted the assets folder in "AfterShot Pro Catalogs" folder.
Then I created a new folder "2011" within "AfterShot Pro Catalogs" folder.
From within ASP I opened the 2011 catalog and imported folders/files into it. There is an assets folder (automatic) in each "year" folder.
Now I have the tree as it appears in the File System under each of the years for which I've imported the files. I do not have AfterShot Pro Catalogs appearing in the catalogs window.
Hopes this makes sense - I'm trying to multitsask
