I cannot close PSPX4

I cannot close PSPX4
Hi, I have win 7, PSPx4 w/ SP1. I can open the program fine, make some adjustments (just Playing), revert, close and I cannot close PSPx4, then everything is frozen. The only way I can unfreeze or get out is to use alt, cntrl, del,task bar, end task. Windows checks for problem and nothing happens except to finally close. I have tried this 5 times in a row now. Does anyone have any ideas. I have had this for a week and not edited anything yet.

I have gotten into the habit of using Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager. It's not faster but prevents me have having to do extra clicking.
Have you tried deserting your workspace? When you go to open PSP hold down the Shift key. It should ask if you want to reset the workspace to the defaults. Sometimes a corrupted workspace causes havoc with PSP. Of course you will want to backup your current workspace first as you will lose all customizations you have made to the workspace as a result of this.

This dod not help at all, I still had to go to the task manager and end the program, windows gave the notice "program not responding" as usual, but at least closed it. Not having done any work yet, this has been a very disappointing experience, makes me wonder if I really want to get ASP or any other Corel progream. I just ordered 2 books for $40 from amazon yesterdy, hope I didn't make a mistake. Anyone else have any ideas?
