Please submit bug reports
Please submit bug reports
It would be helpful if everyone on these forums who finds a problem would submit a bug report so maybe they will get fixed. I know that I am getting quite annoyed that a very buggy beta or even alpha release got put out as a regular release and I am even more annoyed that I am Corel's unpaid QA person. They are getting a very bad reputation in my book. Probably some other people feel the same way. Anyway, if we submit bug reports in addition to post things in this forum then there is a chance the problems will get fixed. You can easily submit bug reports and other feedback here:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ASPFeedback
Corel should be on this forum and reading stuff. It would be great if they would sometimes reply too.

Re: Please submit bug reports
I will file bugreports the minute Corel starts to use some serious web-application for it. Install Bugzilla or some comparable software and I'm ready to go.

Re: Please submit bug reports
Hi guys, just wanted to let you know we are looking at better method for reporting issues, but won't be able to implement a new system immediately. We know we need to improve the experience so you can see what the status of your reports, track progress and interact more directly with other testers and Corel employees. It is a bit of a frustrating process for everyone right now, but please hang in there and keep reporting issues - the good, the bad and the ugly. Every single report is reviewed, prioritized and tracked by the team, even if you can't see it in action yet.
Thanks!

Evelyn, I know that the PaintShop Pro team is considering Zendesk for reportng issues.
Are you considering the same for AfterShop Pro?

I reported a couple of issues, in the first days of ASP, through http://corel.force.com/index?lang=en and the reply I got was that the issues had been forwarded to the ASP team. Can I rest assured it had been done, or should I resubmit via survey monkey?
Thanks,
Ottavio
Re: Please submit bug reports
I have submitted many bug reports already, but I have not bothered submitting any for the countless times ASP has crashed. It happens at various times doing various things so the program is so unstable it seems pointless to even submit reports. I am not going to go to that much trouble unless Corel starts sending me a paycheck. My PSP X, PS CS2, and PSE 9 do not crash. In fact, I don't recall any of them ever crashing. I had the LR 3.2 trial for 30 days and used it a lot. It never crashed. I have RawTherapee 4 beta and it has never crashed.
I realized after having ASP 1.0.0.39 for a couple of weeks that it was so far away from being a releasable product that I couldn't use it in its current state, but I have continued to play around with it. I rarely can use it for more than an hour without it crashing and I am not processing bunches of photos in batches either. One photo at a time. Straightforward stuff. I even stopped using the catalog and just have tried using the file system mode. Still crashes pretty often. Yesterday I used it for a little while and it just hung up for many minutes and wouldn't respond. I couldn't even kill it with the Windows task manager. I tried to reboot Windows, but I couldn't do that either. I finally had to do a hardware reset to kill it and reboot. Then after Windows rebooted I started ASP and a message came up asking if I wanted to continue the previous session (or words to that effect) or start anew. To be safe I said start anew. A few minutes later ASP crashed while I was doing an edit. This is the worst quality released software I have ever installed on my computer in 30 years of using PCs. People at Corel should be very ashamed of themselves. I have been a software developer for a few decades and I would die of shame if I had ever released software like this.

Yes, if you have reported an issue via the URL http://corel.force.com/index?lang=en, rest assure that the agents who reply to your email forward all issues to the proper department for evaluation and investigation.Though it will not hurt if you report the same issue on survey monkey as well. But it would help if you indicate that you reported the issue already and provide the case number if you already have one.

Re: Please submit bug reports
Evelyn - If you are considering Zendesk I hope you read all the forum entries for PSP Zendesk. The most significant issue I see in this forum and PSP is lack of two way communication.evelynw wrote:Can't confirm yet, but if it works for one product....
I sympathize with your frustration. I seem to have a similar system to yours and have had very few crashes and quick recovery after those that did occur. I had tried RawTherapee (not sure which version) and gave up on it because of the crashes. I wonder why such diverse experience.marbly wrote:I have submitted many bug reports already, but I have not bothered submitting any for the countless times ASP has crashed. Re: Please submit bug reports
I have been using LR (currently 4.2) for months since ASP was in such poor shape so I have not been around here for a long time. What is the state of ASP now? Have there been any updates that fix it? If things have improved a lot then I will get the update and try it again.
