aspect ratio change during playback of burned disc
Hi, I finally finished my video project and it looked great in preview. However, after I burned it to a disc and watched it in playback, the aspect ratio keeps changing throughout the movie???? Keeps going through widescreen/fullscreen throughout the whole thing. I have no idea how to fix it. Help!

Can you tell me us how did you create the disc and what options did you use? What version of VideoStudio are you using?

Re: aspect ratio change during playback of burned disc
I'm using Video Studio Pro x4. I created the disk using the videostudio burn option after I finished my project. All my source clips came from the same place (My video camera) and were filmed in 16:9. So one clip, which is the same clip will start in widescreen, then go to full screen then go back to widescreen. I have to submit this on Monday and I have NO idea how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

It also only appears to be happening between transitions????

Re: aspect ratio change during playback of burned disc
What is the difference between full screen and widescreen ????? - you say it starts in wide screen then goes full screen then back to widescreen - on a wide screen TV surely wide screen is full screen
Re: aspect ratio change during playback of burned disc
I'm not explaining this well. When it starts, it fills the the whole TV then shrinks with black all around it then fills the whole tv again. It appears to be happening during transitions between scenes.

Re: aspect ratio change during playback of burned disc
Hi
We could do with more information, you say your video files are all from the same place.
Right click your video clips in the timeline and select properties, what are they?
Do the same for a few more, make sure the properties are the same for all clips.
Tell us the make and model of your camera?
Using Video Studio----If you play the project in Project Playback mode do you see the change in aspect ratio
If the project plays without problems, then convert the project into a video file.
Share Create Video file – DVD – DVD Video16:9
The completed video file should play on your pc, do you have the same problems?

Re: aspect ratio change during playback of burned disc
Thanks for your response. I have a panasonic SDR-H18 video camera. All the clips when I check them say 16:9. When I watch it in preview it seems fine. When I save it to my computer or burn it to a disc and play it, that's when it's a problem. It seems to be happening during the fade transitions between scenes.

Re: aspect ratio change during playback of burned disc
Hi Very strange.
So the smaller view only shows during the transitions, and that’s just a few seconds for each transtion, the remainder of the video playing in 16:9 aspect, is that correct.?
Give full property details of your video files, right click a clip and select properties, provide all details.
After you have finished the editing create a new video file without using Smart Render
Share Create Video File, Same as first Clip, should create file using your video clips properties.
Press the Options button and de-select Smart Render, save the file.
Does that video play ok.

Re: aspect ratio change during playback of burned disc
Were any of the clips in overlay tracks as opposed to the main timeline track?
