DVD MF 3SE - can't start any projects

hi all - hope someone can help.

When trying to create a new project, my Movie Factory software is looping back to the main menu every time I try to add picture folder. Also, the few times I've got it going, I can't add more than two sets of pix for slideshows to one DVD without it crashing. I received my software with a WinTV PVR 250 card, which works fine.
