Hi all,
I have to correct a mistake I made earlier. In my earlier post to this thread, I stated that I wanted a disk and case label utility in VideoStudio. Well, I found in the VS X5 User Guide this morning a section detailing the exact utility I had requested. I guess I should read the entire manual before assuming that a function is not part of the program. I'll try to research things a bit better in future.

For VX6, please correct VX5 DVD label making issue where the label does not hold text alignment. It always goes back to left justify even though I have saved as center justify, cannot get it to print center justify.

Would like to be able to tell it to print one label versus "print all or cancel". I could not find where to tell it to print just one label, could be very helpful.

Thanks,
Candy

1. Waveform monitor to verify/correct the real video levels.
2. Selectable/adjustable skin color, e.g.like Ulead VS11 or VSX2. At least a selection which is not as dark and contrastless as VSX3/4/5. I know dark looks "pro" and is better for viewing video, but in my case I have trouble to see very low level/contrast items in a bright environment.

This is my first comment so forgive if I repeat what has already been voiced.

Its nice in X5 to be able to add 3D stills to the time line and maintain their 3D capability when making a video but please can we have some transitions etc. that will not destroy the 3D effect. I know I can revert to artificial 3D but that's not the point.

I totally agree with Natal. For Heaven`s sake, re-write the entire application to be native 64bit,
so that we can take advantage of 64bit processors and increased amounts of RAM.
Also, AVCHD cameras should be supported fully in their original encoding bitrates.
In other words, when one edits a 24Mbps or 28Mbps (or even higher than that) video file, then
he should have the option to output at 24Mbps or 28Mbps (or even higher).
Good guys always win

Apologies if this has already been mentioned:

- Ability to hold down Ctrl key and select multiple transitions rather than have to select all the same for the entire video or do them individually, unless that is already available?

- Ability to group select video, overlays, audio etc. so that when something is inserted before it in the video that section says together, something like the "group" feature in Powerpoint.

I would like to have two Monitors to view two poitns of the timeline. It would help to find the best two point for cut out and cut in points if it would be possible to scrub each point with two monitors.

At the templates of the DVD menus it would be better to set only the chapter numbers as default in the chapter name fields. Mostly I have to delet the word "chapter" in each line, because the chapters don't need a name, only the number. The content of the chapter is seen by the picture window in the menu. If one wants to insert a name he can do. Thats better else the necessary to delete the name and to leave only teh numbers.

the only hope .. CVS X6 be faster in rendering & best quality of the view.
I usually recored from Sattilite card ( sky star 2) by a program named " Progdvb"
when I convert to MPEG as omptimized sitting I get speed & same original quality, but there is channels full of scrolling tab ( for news & sms msgs)
I try to hide it by hide it by a black strip, after rendering the result is not good for aspect ratio in 9:16 "
it still in 3:4 " . the black strip need a magnatic edges catch to hide the upper & bottom erea ... as I make it fixly still some deffirences in arrenging.
I hope to make something as a ready tamplete so I can pull down the upper one or pull up the bottom one to costomize the strips as the original picture size.. I hope to find it next X6.
with all reguardes to the team

My wishlist is the same as for X5: be able to create good quality output.

I recently tested X5 and I was very disappointed to see that I am simply not able to create good quality output that comes close to the input quality.

X5, very much like X4 and all previous versions promises to do smartrendering, and it does, however the output quality is bad as the transitions are full of glitches.

Last year someone made clear that smartrendering should nog be chosen when input is AVCHD (then why offer the option???). OK, so second option is software rendering. Now, I do not know why, but freeware like Handbrake, Megui, etc. can encode stunning quality. For some reason, Video Studio can’t.

I have experimented with the settings and only at ridiculous high bitrates is quality OKish but still less compared to the output of other programs.

I came to the conclusion that Corel is spending a lot of time on the GUI and operation of the program, which is the main reason for me to tryout every new version, but without good quality encoding I cannot use the program. It’s a shame…

RE DVD burning speed:
I am burning quite a few DVDs. Burn speed defaults to maximum, like 32 or 48x. DVDs I buy at local Office Depot store are 16x max. I just learned about this, was burning them at the default max speed and they skip when played on most DVD players. So when I get out of the project and come back the next day to make more DVDs, it again defaults to maximum speed. Can VS Pro X5 be changed to hold the last burn speed and not always default to maximum. It's easy to forget to look at that setting every time burns are started again.

Thanks

hi
1 - I do not know that if it good comparison between the programs of Corel Corporation and other manufacturers, but there is a program I like working on it because there is an excellent feature which is the variety of modes of presentation where you can see video shot after the other and the program named Magix Pro 16. Instead, the blue ribbon in the empty Corel can be no frames for display, is not this better than to put the cursor in several places to know where the pieces will be?
I Lost a lot of time to know the appropriate placement of the index.
see Attachment Please.
I hope next CVS contain that.

2 - there are small programs to edit the view & Determine the display and viewing area. one of them contain a mask with 8 handles ( Rectangle) over the view you can resize it over the watched Required erea & hide other parts witch contains news, sms,...etc as we record from Channels. Why is not available in Corel this property?

3 - can we see in next CVS more & more extensions like wmv, avi, mpeg1, ...etc with more user controls?
I hope also

thank you

Improve the basic features. I don't care about bells and whistles.

For example make the chroma key feature more effective. At least keep pace with the free programs like Bender. They have a very valuable advantage of green screening to an alpha background.
