Trevor.....OK
I have recorded two GoPro videos: GoPro050 is 1280x720 (20 MB) and GoPro049 is 1280x960 (30 mb). I have up loaded them to 4Shared and will send you the URL in a private message.
I tried rendering the 1280x720 and as before got good video but messed up sound. I also tried rendering with non-square pixels turned off, no effect.
Backup image is now complete so I will now install Video Studio X4 and try with these two videos.
Thanks.....Rob

Re: GoPro VSX2 Sound Issue
Hi Rob
Thanks for the Mpeg4 samples.
Using Video Studio X2 showed the audio problem, I was unable to play the video in Project Playback without the audio completely breaking up.
In Clip Mode the audio played ok. Rendering the files also showed the audio problem .
Video Studio X4 worked first time, the audio played back in Project and Clip mode without problems.
I was able to convert/render the files to a variety of formats, I choose Upload to Web-YouTube-Mpeg4 options. When complete simply cancelled the upload window.
Then rendered to DV-Avi without problems.
I will run few more tests when I have time, but X4 seems to work ok.

Re: GoPro VSX2 Sound Issue
Trevor......I just finished installing Video Studio X4, second time. First time something must have gone wrong as after the SP2 patch, it would not open without crashing. Uninstalled, rebooted, installed again, rebooted, installed SP1, rebooted, installed SP2 and rebooted. After that it opened just fine and, like you, I was able to render the GoPro clips without any audio problems. I tried Video Studio X2 again, thinking that X4 might have installed a new/different Codec, but Video Studio X2 still does not render the clips with audio. Oh well, problem not solved but Video Studio X4 is an acceptible workaround.
I have not installed the "hotfix" since Video Studio X4 seems to be working ok. Maybe later?
Thanks again for you assistance.....RDK45
