WinDVD Pro 11 will not launch

Post by Thraxle »

Got Windvd Pro 11 OEM as a combo deal with a Blu Ray burner yesterday, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827136241

The issue is the program won't launch. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit . Click the icon and nothing happens. I've been through all the updates associated with Windows as advised by customer service, I've also tried running AnyDVD in the background, nothing. System restore, Uninstalled, Re-Installed, nothing. I've checked to see if I'm set up for multiple monitors, also no change. I've also tried running as admin, and running it in multiple compatibility versions. I've registered it on Corels website entered my Serial number and all that.

Can anyone help me out here and give me some input as to what is stopping the application from launching, or point me towards another forum that might help?

I bought the same deal from Newegg and have the same problem.
Corel says "The version which you are using is so called OEM version which we unfortunately do not support."
Newegg says "OEM software is delivered in a generic sleeve or container with little to no documentation or instructions. Because the serial number is exposed, OEM software cannot be refunded. ".
I think we've been screwed. I'm taking my case back to Newegg; they've gotten more than enough money from me through the years.
Keep me posted.
