Laptop with firewire?

I have a five year old HP laptop which has been fine. However, as some programs become more complex (including video editing software) it is getting to be a bit slow and the time might have come to invest in a newer model. The problem is that my camcorder, which does not need replacing, connects to my laptop by firewire. When I look at what is available, there seem to be almost no laptops with firewire ports. Does anyone know of a range of laptops (preferably 17" screen size) or, possibly all-in-ones up to 21" screen size which have a firewire port, or at least the facility to take an express card so that one could be added?

I think that place to get answer for this is to talk to a sales rep of the brand of computer that you are eying. Since they're more or less knows the answer to your question.

You can buy a plug in Firewire port for the laptop's Express Card port. I have a SIIG FireWire 800 Express card for mine and it does a good job with both 400 and 800 speed firewire. I believe the cost was $68.

As firewire gets phased out less and less is getting fitted as standard. Aim for a laptop with an express card slot as mentioned and buy a card.
Or, consider, your next camcorder will not firewire. Buy a new laptop for editing, capture the video to your old laptop onto an external drive and plug this into your new laptop for editing?
