I'm trying Corel Video Studio X4.
I'd like understand how build a menu without using any template.
I mean .. after created a project i go to "share" for creating a dvd with menu. Here i find various template, but i don't want to use it ! I want to create a menu ! Then, how can i add a picture to use as background ? And a image to use like a link to a chapter ? Can i do it ? Or i must to use the template i see ?
And... Can you explain me what's "instant project template" ?
Thanks

Re: Corel Video Studio X4 (trial): how edit a menu ?
hello, when you get to Share >> Create DVD and the new window opens you must first pick a template from the gallery - BUT - then you can change it completely to make it your very own.
when you enter the window and import your video(s) you then click on 'Next' and go to the window showing the menu and a 'Gallery' down the left pick one of the templates depending on whether you want a thumbnail menu, a smartscene menu or a text menu - now at the top of that gallery are two tabs "Gallery" and "Edit" - click on the Edit tab and you will open a new window where you will see facilities to add your own background video or picture - to change the music - to change the way the menu appears and disappears and further down the left is 'Customise' which you can click on to change buttons etc. In this section you can also move all the elements of the menu if you don't like their position - just left click and slide and they will move for you - also if there is something in there you do not want on your menu RIGHT click over it and choose 'Hide Object' when you are happy with what you have done click OK to get back to the burning module.
An "Instant Project Template" is a template set up for you to create a whole project - choosing one of them opens a project with every thing set up - titles - music - transitions etc. - you will note when you open one it has 'placeholders' - these are images with large numbers on - you just put your video/photos where the numbers are and in minutes you have a semi-professional video ready to burn to disc - fine if your not very creative .
Below are two menus which I created using the above procedures - the first I did actually use on one of my videos - the second I assure you is a full working menu but I never actually used it - it was just knocked up to show the sort of changes you could do.
