D700 .NEF rendering problem in ASP

Post by eteam »

Several D700 raw files are rendered incorrectly in ASP.
I've posted a .ZIP file with an example .NEF, the corresponding .XMP, and a cropped .JPG output from ASP.
Link to .Zip file is https://www.yousendit.com/download/M3Br ... a1hMYnNUQw (expires in one week).
The conversion error is visible near the brown duck's eye.

or lens correction. Any of the built-in tools that move pixels it seems.

See: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=45387

I tried to use ASP for a large production job, but stopped soon after I started and reverted to B5 because of this bug.

I'd really like some feedback from Corel Labs about when we might see this fixed. We've paid our upgrade fee and we've put in a lot of work to migrate our plugins and we can't use the product until it is fixed.

I believe the same (or very similar) bug is in B5. Plus B5 has the additional "ragged edges" problem on crops, which seems to be solved in ASP.

Not that I've noticed. The simplest way to test this is to take a fresh RAW image, zoom into 800% view without moving the image so that you have an extreme close-up of the centre of the image, dial in some CA correction for one of the colours (amount is not important), and turn CA on and off. In ASP the image will move, but not in B5 IIRC. The same thing happens for rotation and lens correction, but as the image is already moving in those cases it's harder to spot.

p.s. I was hoping not to have to use the "foe" list in the user control panel in this forum, unlike on the B5 forum, but it seems those hopes have been dashed by a recent arrival.
