Making gifs for Tumbrl with PSP?

Post by Hunter12 »

Help me out good folks, I'm considering buying this program, mainly to create some quality awesome gifs and some photo editing. So can this program make gifs at all and are they produced in high quality. I see a lot of people making gifs mainly from Photoshop, but thats not an option for me, so I was looking for a program that will give me the same results or close, at a cheaper price and easier to use. Can this program be the solution or I need to look elsewhere.

Also some of the things I'm considering is if the program can make split- screen gifs, edit gifs coloring, sharpness, brightness and so on, basically high quality gifs.

Something like this ; http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lomqe ... o1_250.gif
http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lxot6 ... r1_250.gif

Thank you in advance.

Gifs, yes. Animated gifs, no. PSP used to have a partner call Animation Shop or something like that. I don't recall off hand. But it's no longer being sold or bundled with PSP. I do hope to one day make a script that will do it but until then the functionality is not natively supported in PSP.

The GIMP can create Animated GIFs and it's free. And there are other programs, even online conversion tools. You can make the individual images in PSP and then use an external tool to make them animated if you don't mind using a pipeline.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have used gimp before to make gifs, but it doesnt edit them, I want to be able to adjust the brightness, colouring, sharpness and so on . You see I want high quality gifs, so I can be get my work recognised more on tumbrl  , i'm willing to spend some bit of cash. Free gifs makers cant get me there, thats why I need an alternative photoshop- like program that can put those gifs into high quality. Eye catching gifs. :)

No I just want gifs, made from videos files, movies, tv shows and stuff like that. So you are saying this program can do that?.

So long as you capture the actual image and import it into PSP then PSP can save them as GIFs and can edit GIFs. If the GIF has more than one frame PSP will only open the first frame. So if you're not looking to animate them then yes PSP can edit GIFs as easily as it can any other image.
