Im getting myself in a mess with this one, i need to have a picture as the background With two videos running one in the blue section & one in the red!

Hi

First using an image editor remove the blue and red colour, save the image as PNG should show the transparency.
It may be best to create a background around the rings, this will help in hiding the video.
The ring image filling the frame with only the holes being transparent.

Using three overlay tracks you should be able to position the video behind the rings.

Resizing the videos.
Use Mask & Chroma Key to apply a Mask Frame which will effectively remove the corners, may help in poisoning the video.
The shape of the rings being the problem.

just following what Trevor said I thought I would experiment so following Trevors suggestions - I first put your picture of the two rings in my photo editing package and selected the red oval and deleted it - then selected the blue oval and deleted it - so now both rings have transparent centres. Then I flood painted all the background outside the rings in white (could be any colour) then saved again as .png , then I put that photo and two of the sample videos into VS tracks and with a little bit of adjustment of the two videos regarding position and size I produced the project shown below.

If you find the image a bit small to view click on it and it should appear larger in a browser window.
