no flood fill on adjustment layers?

Post by fotojrb »

In PSPx2 I used to select an area in an adjustment layer and then use the Flood Fill tool to create a mask. Did it quite often.

In PSPx4 the Flood Fill tool doesn't seem to work on adjustment layers. I can get the desired effect using the Airbrush, but it's a tedious and imprecise technique. Is this a known bug (I searched the forum but couldn't find it) or an intentional change?

I have no problems using the fill tool on an adjustment layer mask. I just tried it and filled it all with black then added a gradient to a selection. Everything worked as it should.

Same here. You may want to reset your workspace, if things on your end are not working as they should. You can do that by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key then double-click on the PSP icon then when you received the message "DO YOU WAN TO RESTORE PAINTSHOP Pro TO ITS DEFAULT STATE?" just click OK.

It was user error (me). I didn't realize there was a Blend Mode setting for flood fill, and it was set to Overlay, not Normal.
